Kreeg vandaag een filmpje opgestuurd van de voordracht in Peru. Voorafgaand aan mijn optreden is een kort item van 2 minuten over het bezoek van de dichters aan de vrouwengevangenis te zien.
"Reading and writing poetry is a real source of motivation for people deprived of their liberty. Virgen de Fátima women's prison in Lima was one of the venues of the city's Fourth International Poetry Festival. Poets from Malta, Morocco, the Netherlands, Norway and Peru gave a poetry recital and took part in the awards ceremony for the poetry competition organized by the prison. From the ICRC's perspective, the educational and cultural activities revolving around poetry have had a positive impact on the inmates and are a valuable way to promote their social reintegration."
